TV Doctor Customers: This GLA supplement supplies 299mg per softgel. This omega-6 fatty acid is found in plant oils like evening primrose and black currant seed. Omega-6 fatty acids are well-supplied in the diet by meat and vegetable oils. However, not all omega-6 fatty acids are of equal value. Arachidonic acid (AA) tends to be unhealthy because it is the precursor of inflammatory eicosanoids — such as prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), thromboxane A2, and leukotriene B4 — which promote inflammation. Health-conscious people have been swallowing a lot of borage oil supplements to obtain GLA (gamma linolenic acid), the parent of the biologically active DGLA (dihomogamma linolenic acid).
Life Extension adds 10 mg of sesame lignans to each softgel of Mega GLA borage oil. Sesame lignans not only increase beneficial DGLA but they also prevent the conversion of GLA into the proinflammatory mediator arachidonic acid. 56 Blocking this pathway decreases the formation of destructive proinflammatory agents prostaglandin E2 and leukotriene B4. 57

- Does this product have bad affects for Type 2 Diabetes ? If not, what other supplements can be used to increase success in weight loss goals such as Green Coffee extract, raspberry Ketones, etc.
- This should have no adverse effects on diabetes. It can be taken along with Green Coffee and Raspberry Ketones but we recommend speaking with your doctor before taking these supplements.

- If each capsule is 299mg and Dr Oz recommended 1000mg is it better to take 3 and be under or take 4 and be over..??

- I wanted to verify something. It says to take 1000mg 3 times a day. Therefore, that would be a total of 3,000 mg a day (10 capsules per day) for a week if you want to lose weight. Please let me know if this is correct. I am looking to lose weight within a week and I want to make sure how many capsules a day I should be taking. Thank you.
- Each of these capsules contain 299mg of pure GLA. You would need to take about 9 per day to meet the dosage Dr. Oz spoke about during the 1 Week Weight Loss Show.

- Can I take these while nursing/pumping?
- While it shouldn't be an issue, we don't recommend anyone that is pregnant, breastfeeding or nursing to take a dietary supplement such as GLA without speaking with their doctor first.

- On the bottle it says up to 5 softgels can be taken per day. Would you still reccomend up to 9 a day taking 3 at each meal?
- Dr. Oz said if you were trying to do a big weight loss in a week, do 1000mg with your main meals. If you plan on using this product for a while for sustained weight loss to take around 800-900mg per day. So it's up to you. Hope this helps!
