On today's Dr. Oz Show, Dr Oz had on Jorge Cruise, the author of The 100. He talked about how much he loved carbs and how much he loved baking, so he went on a mission to find alternatives to regular flour. He talked with Dr. Oz about a couple new low-carb flours that are perfect for everyone. One he loved the most though.
Dr. Oz Coconut Flour
Jorge Cruise says Coconut Flour is great to use as a breading in all your favorite fried recipes. Instead of using a whole cup of the regular flour everyone is used to and replace it with 1/4 Coconut Flour. You can do this whenever you are cooking or baking. This will greatly reduce the number of carbs and calories you are getting in that meal or dessert.
- High in protein and fiber and low in digestible carbs
- Use it to make breaded foods.
Coconut Flour Recipe
One recipe Jorge Cruise loves is his Fried Chicken and Tomatoes meal. It's easy to make and you replace the regular flour with coconut flour. You also include coconut oil instead of olive oil or any type of oil you usually cook with.
