Phytoceramides were recently talked about on Dr. Oz as a supplement for anti-aging, improve skin health and skin care. Here at Best Price Nutrition, we received TONS of questions about this product, so we wanted to run through the research to show you exactly how this anti-aging supplement works.
So What Are Phytoceramides Supposed to Do?
Dr. Oz recommended this product to "fake a facelift" as he put it. You should take it for 4 weeks which may give you a 'natural' facelift and morwe healthy skin. This product is supposed to restore the elasticity and tightness of the skin. All this without having to go and actually have surgery.
What is Means to Be Plant Derived
Dr. Oz recommended that you get a plant derived version of Phytoceramides, which is the one we sell. You will know it's plant based if it has 'phyto' in the name of the product. They are actually made from wheat. So if you do have a gluten allergy, we would recommend taking this product. Right now we do not sell any alternative formulas.
What is the Difference Between Ceramides & Phytoceramides?
These are fatty acids that are made in the body, but plants make them as well. They are what keeps your skin tight. As we age, the amount of ceramides decline. This product can help restore the amount of ceramides in the body.
So Will This Be Miracle I Need To Look Younger?
Your face wrinkles for many reasons, the loss of ceramides is only one factor in that. So with this product, you may be able to fix that problem. But if you are say in the sun 6 hours per day, this product won't help you fix that type of aging. Maybe if you are a smoker or eat too much sugar. These can all cause wrinkles, which not one product will completely fix. So if you are going to take phytoceramides, make sure to live a healthy lifestyle as well.
What Does the Research Say?
This whole thing started up in Japan about 10 years ago and has started to build up in the USA. The studies in Japan found that taking phytoceramides was effective in increasing the amount of ceramides in the body. Not that you should go by it, but there is a ton of anecdotal evidence that it works very well too.
Q: Are these the bad ceramides that can cause Cancer and disease?
A: There is a difference from the natural occuring ceramides and phytoceramides. Phytoceramides are completely safe and help your body to naturally increase the amount of ceramides in the skin. This whole myth came from the fact that cancer patients had more ceramides...but not in the skin, in the blood. Correlation does not equal causation. In the research we looked at, phytoceramides were completely safe.
