Dr Oz. Elderberry Extract for Colds

Dr. Oz talked about the lymph nodes on yesterday’s show.The lymph node is the organ that catches the cold. In order to lessen your chances of getting a cold, you need to protect them. Gladys, an audience member, joined Dr Oz on the stage. She told Dr Oz that she drank tea in order to ward off the cold bug. (I prefer a hot toddy. Even if I'm still sick, I feel better...) Blood vessels carry blood to the tissues and to the arteries, the veins and the lymph. The lymph follows along where you have arteries and veins and gets rid of leftover junk in the body. Humans have thousands and thousands of lymphs in the body. To keep yourself cold free, you need to keep your lymph nodes healthy.

As you get sick, the nodes get larger in attempts to keep up with the infection in the body. Doctor Oz showed that you can get a neck massage in order to make them smaller. (Sounds like a plan to me!) One method is the Osteopathic Technique. To do this, grab the skin just below the ear and massage downward toward the clavicle bone. (Dr Oz performed this technique on Gladys who looked as though she was loving it!)
