Reviewing the All New Dream Fuel Bar

In today's post we're going to be reviewing the All New Dream Fuel Bar from a company called "The Dream Fuel" based right here out of Chicago. The guys over at Dream Fuel stopped by and dropped off a few boxes of bars for us and we decided to give them a try.

The Dream Fuel Bar being new is only available in a single flavor, that flavor being Chocolate. The bars feature 13 grams of protein sourced from Collagen and Whey Protein from Grass-Fed Cows. These bars contain no added sugar, only 6 grams of net carbs, and 10 grams of Fiber. They're also advertised as being Keto Friendly. One thing I really like about the bars is unlike a lot of bars which are advertised as having no sugar but are loaded with sugar alcohol, these bars only have 2 grams of sugar alcohol. Take a look at the chart below and see how that stacks up against other bars on the market which range from 7 to as much as 22 grams of sugar alcohol per bar. 

But let's get to what you really want to know, how does it taste. The company describes it as a chocolate mousse cake. I'll be honest, initially upon seeing the low sugar, low sugar alcohol and the fact it's made with no artificial ingredients, I didn't have high hopes for the bar, let's be honest naturally flavored things, while good for us, normally taste like crap. I have to say however I was pleasantly surprised.

Upon opening the wrapper my intial thought was, "this looks exactly like an NXT Bar" which is tied for my top favorite protein bars of all time right up there with 5% Nutrition's Knock The Carb Out Bar aka the KTCO Bars, which are also Keto Friendly Bars.

The bar has the exact same consistency as a NXT Bar with chocolate chunks within the bar. Upon taking a bite the taste is fantastic, it tasted like a cocoa bar to me, though I suppose I can pickup a bit on the chocolate mousse flavor. The bar is a little powdery or oily but not in a bad way. I notice bars with coconut oil tend to have that type of consistency, but personally I actually like that consistency. 

Overall I was a huge fan of The Dream Bars and look forward to them hopefully rolling out some additional flavors down the road. Hey The Dream Fuel, if you guys happen to read this get something with Peanut Butter out on the market ASAP and send me a box ;)
