So every Monday we're going to be picking out or I should say Maurice is going to be picking out a random word out of the pile and there's going to be some, some extra goodies for those people.

Brad:
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. So what are we doing today?

John:
So today we got the Ghost energy drinks. This is one of the hottest energy drinks on the market. I noticed tons of YouTube videos. A lot of people talking about this on social, we recently did an energy drink showdown, kind of like the basketball brackets and we let people vote on their top energy drink and...

Brad:
Number one!

John:
Ghost, took the crown. I know a lot of people love Bangs. I'm a little bit over Bangs.

Brad:
I think a lot of people, everyone who I talked to who comes into this store tells me that they're pretty much done with Bangs.

John:
Yeah.

Brad:
Yeah.

John:
I mean, I'll get one every now and again, my girlfriend kind of likes them, so I'll Bang my girlfriend. Sometimes we go to the gas station, grab her a Star Blast, but I'm kind of over Bangs and this is probably my new favorite energy drink. I think we recently tried the Sour Patch Kids. Is it the red or the blue one?

Brad:
It was the red one.

John:
The red?

Brad:
I don't think we have the blue in yet red

John:
The Red Sour Patch Kids, I got to say that's probably the best energy drink I've ever had of all time.

Brad:
100%. They, to me, it tastes like Swedish fish. 100% there ... I can't not taste Swedish fish and it's like on the nose, Swedish fish. It's delicious.

John:
And then I know we've kind of covered this before, but these have 200 milligrams of caffeine, which I think is the perfect sweet spot.

Brad:
Yes, absolutely.

John:
And you know, you'd probably be the guy to ask about this. I've noticed lately that I prefer the energy drinks with a little bit of calories. Like ...

Brad:
I haven't noticed that.

John:
You know what? Cause I know like Bangs are zero calorie. A lot of these energy drinks are zero calorie. I notice a lot of the newer ones coming out. This has five, I've seen a couple, others have 20, it's such an insignificant amount of calories that it's not going to make or break yet, but I tend to notice it. It tastes cleaner, less chemically. I just, I tend to like the ones that got five, 10, 20 grams of or five, 10 20 calories.

Brad:
Yeah. And usually the ones that do that are the ones that actually have some good ingredients like this isn't what's factoring into the calories. But usually if you have really good ingredients, you're also going to kind of have to have something where there is like a gram of sugar or something like that. Like the carnitine taurine, alpha GPC, neuro factor estrogen, you get really good ingredients in there. So the fact that there's five calories, it's worth it. You know, it's going to be a better drink. And then this one is The Warhead's version Sour Watermelon.

John:
You know, we're drinking this warm. It's even more delicious cold. I had a tiny sip of somebody's the other day.

Brad:
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I could already smell it. It's pretty strong. I don't even want to let me, if you want more go for it, but ...

John:
Okay it smells super good.

Brad:
It literally smells like a melted, like jolly rancher almost.

John:
Yeah.

Brad:
That's it dude.

John:
You know, like they nailed the, the flavor of, of watermelons, Watermelon Warhead, but they didn't go too sour for the people out there who don't like really turn things.

Brad:
It's definitely making my mouth water a little bit, but it's not making me pucker. It's good. I mean, I almost prefer it warm, to be honest, yeah,

John:
Actually pretty good. It's almost the flavor is more.

Brad:
Yeah. It's more like.

John:
-more there.

Brad:
Yeah. I mean, to you use the term warm, but like it feels better in your mouth. Sometimes energy drinks are so cold that it like you can't drink it fast. It feels like it's ripping your mouth open.

John:
Weird thing is I know you're, you're a craft beer guy, with craft beer that, you know, everyone likes an ice cold beer, but let's say with craft beer, the ideal temperature is what is it like 40.

Brad:
It it's it's, it's less than ice cold, you don't want it ice cold. Cause that's not something you want-

John:
Cause you lose the flavor.

Brad:
Yeah. It's like cheese. You want cheese to warm ... and this drives me crazy. But when you get nice cheese, you don't want to eat it cold. You want it to warm up to room temperature where it's like almost sweaty and then you ... I swear to God, no one believes me, you do that, and then you eat it when it's warm. Oh my God. It's a totally different cheese. It's crazy.

John:
Now between this and the Red Sour Patch Kids would ...

Brad:
The red one.

John:
Red one?

Brad:
I'm not a big sour guy. And even though this isn't crazy sour, I just like a nice tasting drink. I don't want anything getting in the way, which to me sour kind of does, but it's still a really, really good flavor.

John:
You know what I say? I, I like both of them. I will give the slight edge to the Red Sour Patch. I never really liked having the same thing day in and day out. So I would definitely mix it up. And get one of these.

Brad:
Is definitely like a good, it's not like an everyday one. It's a really good once in a while, if you want something different. And also with the Red Sour Patch one, it can almost be too much flavor. Honestly. It's very, very, it's a great flavor, but it's very, very strong. So you kind of have to know what you're getting into, but it is good. I like that one a little bit more. This one's still very good.

John:
One other thing to mention, I know for, I know for me personally, and for a lot of people out there, they say the Bang is just too much. You feel crazy and it gives you a stomachache, gives you a headache, whatever else. This is 200 milligrams of caffeine instead of 300, which I think is kind of the sweet spot I've always like the 3D energies, but you would also commenting that this as natural caffeine. And you feel like it's a little bit mellower of an energy.

Brad:
Me and, there's a coworker of ours named Edmond. We were talking about this earlier today. We feel that 200 milli- we could be wrong, but it feels this way. 200 milligrams of natural caffeine versus 200 milligrams of caffeine anhydrous, which is like the chemical straight up form of caffeine. It's, it's different. You definitely don't get as tweaky as you do off of caffeine anhydrous with natural caffeine, natural caffeine is just kind of like a gentle boost. So if you're trying to do a pre-workout type deal, I would say do caffeine anhydrous. If you're trying to do something to work on, or maybe just like have throughout the day for some extra energy, natural caffeine is really, really good. It's very mellow. There's definitely a difference. Plus you get the alpha GPC in there, the neuro factor, you get things in there that are going to help you with focus too. So while it is like a lot more gentle than caffeine anhydrous or so it feels you do get the focus aids with it. So you're still getting a good amount of energy and focus.

John:
Yes and I haven't tried a bad Ghost energy drink yet. I think we've tried the Citrus, the Red Sour Patch Kids, the Mango, and this one all have been fantastic. And Ghost tends to do a lot of collaborations with real candy brands and really food brands. So I'm excited to see what else, what else they roll out down the road.

Brad:
The only one we haven't tried so far is the Blue Sour Patch Kids, but hopefully we can get that in soon. It's very hard to get a hold of, but when we do, we'll do a video and also if you're in the Chicago land area, you go to a Capital Nutrition or Supplement Warehouse and grab some, we have them super, super cheap. Let's try one out, stop in and say, "Hey."

John:
And it is definitely worth mentioning there because you don't always want to commit to a, a whole case of a drink without knowing and the Ghosts, you don't really see them at the gas stations and things like that. So we are in Mokena, Tim, Orland Park.

Brad:
Yes.

John:
Schererville, Indiana.

Brad:
Yes.

John:
Bolingbrook, Illinois.

Brad:
And then west Dallas, Wisconsin.

John:
Yep.

Brad:
So if you're in Milwaukee, it's literally, I believe west Dallas borders it and you could be downtown Milwaukee and then be at our store in I think seven minutes. So yeah, go to any of the ... if you're anywhere in the Chicago land or Milwaukee area, stop by pick one up and we'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

John:
Grab yourself an energy drink head down the road to Mars Cheese Castle and eat yourself some room temprature cheese.

Brad:
That's funny, warm up some cheese.

John:
Great afternoon.

Brad:
Yeah. Get some squeaky curds. All right. Thanks guys.

John:
Later guys.
