Does L-Theanine Help with Anxiety?

L-Theanine is considered an anti-anxiety supplement as it causes increased alpha brain wave activity and increased synthesis of GABA. Increased gaba in turns increases the levels of dopamine and serotonin resulting in a general feeling of calm and well-being. 

Does L-Theanine Help with Sleep?

While L-Theanine is better known for stress and anxiety which in turn may help with sleep, one study did find that 200mg of L-Theanine before bed improved sleep quality. Another study found 200mg in the morning and evening improved sleep efficiency. 

Directions

Take a single capsule 1 to 2 times per day or as needed. Preferable to take on an empty stomach though can be taken with food.
