Seems to be working very well before or during training as extra fuel source. I would love to know the glycemic index on this product. I like the fact it doesn't spike my insulin. I have never understood why some athletes want this crazy glucose spike. Yes it might have its place but prefer a longer more sustainable energy source from my carbs. Good Stuff, give it a try!
Hi Ben - We are thrilled you enjoyed the Waxy Maize from Allmax Nutrition. Great company and great carb source, especially post workout. Similar product, but their Carbion is pretty awesome too!
I made a big batch of my own preworkout one time and this happened to be one of the ingredients that people swore by on the internet. I had already been using the mix I made and then added this and tried it again. It seemed to add a nice flavor and texture to it but it didn't really improve the results I got from the homemade preworkout. If anything it was a good enough filler to make the mix last longer. No negatives to say, but not a whole lot of positives either. I guess I would consider using this again in my next batch.
This is a good supplement if you are looking to gain some clean carbs without extra fat and eating food. However, it has about forty grams of carbs. That is a good amount of carbs no doubt, but I would rather just eat some whole foods in order to get those carbohydrates. 40 grams of carbs is not that hard to get, even with complex carbohydrates. If you are taking these carbs in the gym though, then they are worth it. It is a lot better than eating food in the gym.
Overall, I would say this is an average product at best. It is another one of those carb products, similar to Karbolyn. I like the taste and how it works, but I do not think it's absolutely effective. It's giving you 40 grams of carbs per serving, but you could find that in everyday food from good sources. I just don't think it's needed.
I would definitely do some research prior to investing in this stuff. Reviews and results have been very random. I did see some results initially but it was short lived and plateued very quickly. This is basically really expensive corn starch. Some can argue that dextrose is a cheaper and better alternative. Over all the product taste fine and mixes easily. As for effectiveness I guess it depends on your goals. Not bad but not great for me personally.
Allmax Nutrition Waxy Maize is my bonus Carbohydrate supplement of choice while on my Mass/Bulking Phase. I instantly feel full in my muscles while training as I take it pre-workout and post-workout. I usually add Beta-Alanine, Creatine, Citrulline Malate & a flavoured electrolyte drink pre-workout with Allmax Nutrition Waxy Maize. It's the ultimate stack addition to any pre-workout mix in my opinion! If you are looking for a great quality extra dose of starch based carbs this is a product you must try!
First time trying a carb powder.... All Max Waxy Maize 2300 came as advertised; great enegy source for hardcore workouts and post w/o recovery comes unflavored and mixes w/ any liquid quickly... goes down easy. What they claimed was, unlike other carb powders it wont "glue" up after a few minutes making it undrinkable again, came as advertised, it wont glue up at all... even hours later.. so you can take it w/ you and drink it as needed. It costs a little more, but because you dont need it every day, a 4lb tub shud last quite a while.. it is also 40 grams of pure carbs per scoop... I will be using it from here on out...glad I tried it... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! (especially if your not eating like the good little body builder that you are).......
I mix this with Isoflex, creatine, and beta-alanine for a pre and post workout drink.
This product is great! It does just what it suppose to do!
