Best tasting vegan protein
This protein powder is freaking amazing! This is the first vegan protein powder I've tried that does not have that pea or rice protein flavor to it, although also being a blend. Not only is it a complete protein from many different sources, but this protein powder also has a blend of antioxidants and nutrients that make me feel really good having it. I love baking with this, it really enhances the flavor. The Cinnabon is delicious, and the mocha a close second.
This is by far the best tasting vegan protein powder out there! The macros are also amazing, although slightly different for each flavor. I've tried all the flavors except the vanilla, although I head that one is super creamy and the best vanilla vegan protein many have tried! My favorite is the Cinnamon Bun flavor, it literally blows my mind how they make it taste so good. You can't taste any of the pea or rice protein, it has no aftertaste, and it's just delicious! When baking with it the smell of cinnamon rolls fill the entire house! I also love how they added omega 3s, fiber, and so many antioxidants into the mix! I absolutely love this protein!
I really like this supplement because of what it is. It is not like any other proteins out there. sure, there are other products on the market that are plant based protein, but when you look at the label this stuff is amazing. IT has so many other ingredients that are natural and GMO free that it is amazing. It has a blend of 5 different plant based protein so it is great if you are a vegan or vegetarian, and it contains amino acids and other ingredients that can really help your overall health.
I really like trying to use non-whey based proteins whenever possible, but as most people know, choking it down can be kind of a task. Gardenia is probably the best of the vegan protein powders I have used in the taste category but it still leaves something to be desired when compared to the regular whey powders. For the incredible profile that this protein supplies I will deal with the taste however. The chocolate flavor is the more bitter of the two so I definitely preferred the Vanilla Bean. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to avoid the bloat associated with consuming whey protein.
I had bought the cocoa flavor earlier today and had a scoop after my back workout. I mixed it with 10 ounces of vanilla almond milk. As far as taste goes, I am very impressed. Usually with vegan proteins like hemp or pea proteins there is a bitter flavor associated with it. However I have to applaud Body Nutrition again on their flavor profiling with this protein. It was delicious; far better than any other vegan protein I have had. There was no bitterness whatsoever and a very pleasant aftertaste was all that was left. With only one gram of sugar, it was not overly sweet and I can tell I will not grow tired of it like some of their other limited release proteins. With hemp protein, there is usually a dry or bland taste left after the first few sips which was not experienced at all with this protein. I would give it an 8/10 for taste only because it was lacking the creaminess associated with whey proteins that I am used to. As far as digestion goes, I have not encountered any gastrointestinal upset yet. Sometimes there can be bloating with new proteins but it went down smoothly and I have not had any cramping at all. I might have to wait a few hours, but I also have not noticed any flatulence problems either. The only drawback I noticed with this protein was the solubility. After stirring for about a minute there were still lumps in the shake. I kind of enjoyed the lumps, however, because the protein tasted so good. Although, I am sure this may be annoying for some other users. I must admit though, I did not use a shaker bottle because I did not have one at my disposal at the time. The protein might mix better if shaken instead of stirred. Overall, I must say for the price and the quality product that Body Nutrition offers, I am very pleased with this protein. I have tried getting away from milk based products in my diet and although whey and casein offer the gold standards for amino acid profiles, these three vegetable-based proteins do offer a very competitive, comparable protein option. For those with digestion difficulties, vegan or gluten-free proclivities, lactose intolerance, or those wanting to try something different with a great taste, I highly recommend this product. I will be buying this product again in the future and will probably make this my go-to protein now that I know the taste is superior to any other vegan option I have tried.
I received samples of this from a show I went to. I don't usually drink vegan protein shakes because of the taste of them. This one was actually really good and I could see myself drinking Gardenia every morning. I still love trutein though, so that's my goto protein, but to be a little healthier, this was easy to drink and if you didn't tell me it wasn't vegan I would have no idea.
I have been vegan now for almost 5 years. I usually take PlantFusion, which tastes ok. Best Price Nutrition sent me some samples of this stuff and I have been patiently waiting for it to be released. This kills any other vegan protein out there. If you are vegan then you need to try this stuff. It's a blessing.
