This is a good product. They help your grip kind of like the rubber things that people use to help open tight jars in your kitchen. They are the same concept as that, which is basically just like an extra grippy pad. Some gyms do not really allow the use of chalk, and others strongly frown upon it. When chalk is not an option or you do not like the feeling of chalk on your skin, these gripad lifting grips will really help with that. I prefer straps, but these do the same thing.
going bare handed only goes so far. im a powerlifter so i only use chalk, but when im at my regular gym i use straps. straps started to break alot so i decided to give these a try. these are durable and great for grip. i use them especially for dead lifting. i would recommend this as an alternative to straps or chalk.
These are cool, and I like them a lot better than I do gloves because you can easily put them on or take them off, but they are cheap, and they don't last. Avoid any movements with them where your grip moves around (eg. Forearm work), but on bench, curls and the like they are great! If your grip slips on chins or something though, these will quite easily tear, and pulling movements may cause they sewing between the finger holes to tear. But that may well be what happens with gloves anyway, and despite all of these shortcomings I do prefer these over even the best gloves. For $12 a pair you can buy a few anyway. Just don't expect to use them for years of heavy rows.
