NOW Foods Real Foods Agar Powder is a gluten-free food derived from marine red algae. Agar Powder can be used for cooking, as a vegetable substitute for gelatin. Many customers add it to soups, jelly, ice cream, and many other foods.
Agar Powder is sometimes used for weight loss, denistry, and as a treatment for diabetes and constipation. It also works quite well as a laxative. Agar stimulates the intestines to produce bowel movements. Although some people use it for weight loss, more research is needed to confirm this application.

Directions
Agar can be used as a vegan substitute for gelatin's functional properties.
- In a small pot, place 1/2 teaspoon of NOW Real Food® Agar Powder into 1/2 cup of water.
- Allow mixture to simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add desired fruits or vegetables.
- Pour into mold and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
