The Nutrition Facts Behind TikToker @Chef.Pii Pink Sauce

So the Social Media Site TikTok is a breeding ground for pop culture trends, products, new supplements and recipes, and viral news stories. Recently a TikToker by the name of @Chef.Pii is making waves with her "Pink Sauce". Chef Pii had apparently been making videos and using this Pink Sauce and eventually dropped it for sale in early July. While she described it as savory, sweet and full of flavor, she never really described what it was or what it tasted like, which got the audience on Tik Tok curious as to what this Pepto Bismo colored sauce was all about.

WHAT IS PINK SAUCE?

Pink Sauce is literally what it sounds like a pink colored sauce created, promoted and sold by Tik Tok user @Chef.Pii and the sauce can reportedly be used on everything from fried chicken to tacos to even salads. Chef Pii is a reportedly a self proclaimed celebrity chef based out of Miami and is hawking the sauce for $20 per bottle, her TikTok account shows her using this sauce on everything from fried chicken to gyros to salads and more. Apparently the sauce contains some type of mix of Dragonfruit, Sunflower Seed Oil, Honey, Chili and Garlic. Pink Sauce went on sale on July 1, and once customers started receiving their orders the backlash began.

TIKTOK PINK SAUCE CONTROVERSEY

Once customers began receiving their bottles of Pinks Sauce the reviews began rolling in. Apparently the sauces were shipped in bags and not boxes, so many customers opened their bags to discover busted bottles and pink sauce all over the place. Others commented on how the color wasn't even pink or that the hue or color of the sauce never seemed to be consistent, while others were alarmed by the fact that ingredients on the nutrition label were misspelled and that the service size and servings per container listed on the bottle didn't make sense. In terms of the taste, while some claimed it tasted like pink ranch dressing, others found it to taste or smell rancid and some even said they were too afraid to try it upon receiving it. The nicest responses we saw went as far as saying it's "not nasty" which isn't necessarily a glowing review of this pink concoction.

WHAT IS PINK SAUCE FROM TIK TOK MADE OF?

Tik Tok Pink Sauce

So let's take a look at Chef Pii's Tik Tok Pink Sauce which promises to "excite your tastedbuds with flava and thrill you with our creativity." The ingredients in the Tik Tok Pink Sauce are listed as water, sunflower seed oil, raw honey, distilled vinger, I think she meant vinegar,  pink himalayan sea salt, and less than 2% dried spices, lemon juice, milk, and citric acid. As far as where the sauce gets it's pink flavor, we don't see what dies or coloring is used for that.

In terms of the nutritional value, a serving which is 1 tablespoon or 14.4 grams contains 90 calories, 1 gram of fat, 60mg of sodium, 3 grams of carbs, 4 grams of fiber, and 11 grams of sugar. Assuming the nutritional values are correct it's not a terrible sauce from the perspective of the macros.

WHAT DOES TIKTOK PINK SAUCE TASTE LIKE?

Nobody can seem to agree on exactly what the sauce tastes like, some describe it as a sweet ranch dressing while others say it's not ranch like at all, and some say it's not like any sauce you've ever tried before.

WRAPPING UP

So should you buy Chef Pii's Pink Sauce? Well, that's up to you. You may want to wait until Chef Pii shores up the formula, gets the official licensing and approval to sell this sauce, and starts making it in a commercial kitchen, but if you happen to have already tried it, or wind up picking up a bottle at the hefty price of $20 for a condiment bottle, drop us a comment and let us know what you thought of it.
