The Best Beta Alanine Free Preworkouts

The Best Beta Alanine Free Preworkouts
Preworkout Without Beta Alanine

Beta Alanine is a common ingreient in many preworkouts, and it's the ingredient responsible for giving you "The Tingles". If you've ever taken a preworkout which contained beta alanine you've probably noticed the itchiness, the warm feeling in your face and scalp, and the itch and mild burning sensations beta alanine brings. Many people love this feeling and say it let's them know their preworkout has kicked in or is working, while others hate it, find it to be itchy, and find it distracts from their workout.

Many preworkout users find that after taking a preworkout for a week or two that tingling sensation lessens or goes away as you develop a tolerance, however other users find that it does not. Personally, I find that if a preworkout has 1.6 grams of beta alanine or less the tingles aren't very noticeable. The typical dosage dosage of beta alanine in most preworkouts is around 2.3 grams.

So does Beta Alanine actually provide benefits for users? Beta Alanine has immune enhancing properties, it also acts as an antioxidant and has anti-aging properties. What Beta Alanine is best known for is for decreasing muscle fatigue and increasing muscle endurance, there by improving or increasing athletic performance. More recently however some studies have come out showing that in order to get the full benefit of the endurance boosting benefits of Beta Alanine you'd have to take somewhere between 9 and 11 grams. Even the preworkouts with the heftiest dosages of beta alanine tend to top out around 6.5 grams, with most preworkouts containing between 2 grams and 2.3 grams of beta alanine, meaning you're not getting a ton of benefit from this ingredient.

This post however is for those seeking out a preworkout without beta alanine. Being a hater of beta alanine myself, went on a mission to find beta alanine free preworkouts, and to my surprise it was actually pretty tough to put together a collection of preworkouts without beta alanine. We did however manage to find a number of preworkout options that do not contain beta alanine, and we'll continue to add to this list as we find more or bring more in. You can also checkout our collection of Preworkouts Without Beta Alanine HERE.

EHP Labs Pride Pre Workout 40 Servings

$44.95

Let's start with the heavy hitters. A lot of the "preworkouts" without beta alanine are actually energized aminos or caffeinated aminos. We were only able to find two actual full scale preworkouts without beta alanine, with Pride being the strongest, most well rounded and heaviest hitting of the bunch. Pride Preworkout packs a hefty dose of pump ingredients including 5 grams of Citrulline, 1.5 grams of Arginine and 1 gram of Betaine. It also contains a 5 gram EAA performance blend as well as a 550mg Stimulant Blend. If you're looking for a high stim, pump packed preworkout without beta alanine EHP Labs Pride Preworkout is a fantastic option.

Zhou Lite Up Xtra Preworkout 30 Servings

$25.99

Zhou Lite Up Xtra is another great beta alanine preworkout. Lite Up Xtra isn't quite as hard hitting as Pride, however it is a great option for those who are stim sensitive as it only contains 100mg of natural caffeine per scoop. It's also great for those seeking out a preworkout without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives as Lite Up Xtra has natural cherry and lime flavors and is sweetened with Stevia. Lite Up Xtra is a great beginner preworkout and provides a decent pump with 1500mg of Arginine and 2000mg of Citrulline.

Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals Off the Chain 30 Servings

$19.95

The rest of the "Beta Alanine Free Preworkouts" actually fall into the category or Energized Aminos ie amino acid supplements with added caffeine. Off The Chain by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals is one of the best energized aminos to use as a preworkout. Where as most energized aminos contain around 100mg of caffeine per serving, Off The Chain contains 160mg of caffeine per serving making it a bit stronger than other energized aminos on the market like Amino Kick or Amino Energy.

Allmax Nutrition A:Cuts 30 Servings

$19.99

Next on the list is Allmax Nutrition's A:Cuts. While A:Cuts technically falls into the category of energized aminos, it actually contains a bit more than just aminos and caffeine. ACuts packs 127mg of caffeine along with aminos, but it also contains 500mg of CLA a weight loss ingredient and 2000mg of Taurine which is good for hydration and will provide a small muscle pump and has been shown to help increase muscle mass and strength and reduce muscle damage caused by exercise. It may also help accelerate recovery between training. ACuts is a great option for a low stim beta alanine free preworkout and comes in a variety of tasty flavors to choose from.

NutraBio Amino Kick 30 Servings

$23.99

Last but certainly not least on our list of Beta Alanine Free Preworkouts is Nutrabio's new Amino Kick. Amino Kick is an energized amino supplement which aims to compete with Optimum Nutrition's Amino Energy. It contains a 160mg Energy and Focus Matrix which contains Green Coffee Bean Extract yielding 102mg Natural Caffeine along with Green Tea Leaf Extract. It goes beyond being just aminos and caffeine as it also contains a 624mg Electrolyte and Hydration Matrix which consists of Himalayan Pink Sea Salt, CocoPure Coconut Water Powder, Potassium, and Magnesium. While Amino Kick isn't a fullscale preworkout, it should help boost focus and improve motivation and that mind muscle connection and the pink himalayan sea salt should provide a nice little pump as well.
