Kill Cliff's Limited Edition "Flaming Joe" Spicy Pineapple Recovery Drink Review

We recently got our hands on a couple cases of Kill Cliff's Limited Edition Joe Rogan drink. The beverage is called Kill Cliff Flaming Joe, and it's a CBD Energy Drink with a Spicy Pineapple flavor. What's unique about this particular flavor is that it's a Limited Edition flavor they did in partnership with Joe Rogan. Now here at Best Price Nutrition we don't sell CBD drinks or products on our website, however if you're in the Chicagoland area you can pick-up a can or a case at our sister stores Capitol Nutrition and/or Supplement Warehouse. 

In today's post however we wanted to let you know about this unique and tasty beverage as well as give you our thoughts and a full review. 

Kill Cliff Flaming Joe Overview

So first off, if you're not aware of Kill Cliff, it's probably the #1 CBD Beverage on the market, or at least close fighting it out with Bang Energy's Stoked CBD Drink which comes in a caffeinated and non-caffeinated version. Kill Cliff makes non-CBD products, namely an Energy Drink called Ignite and another recovery drink, again both non-CBD. What the brand is probably best known for however is their Kill Cliff CBD Recovery Drink.

Kill Cliff is a recovery drink featuring 125mg of broad spectrum CBD which yields 25mg of CBD. Incase your wondering, full spectrum CBD contains all cannabinoids where as broad spectrum contains 2 out of the 3 cannabinoids. In addition to CBD this beverage contains Electrolytes, Taurine, B Vitamins, and best of all no sugar and only 20 calories. 

Kill Cliff describes the beverage as a Luau in your mouth and warns it may cause you to dance uncontrollably. As many energy drink and supplement brands do, they've done up a really nice custom can design for this one featuring Joe Rogan along with a funky design and alien spaceships, as Joe is an alien fanatic. 

Kill Cliff CBD Drinks are billed as recovery drinks as opposed to energy drinks as they focus on recovery, their is a small amount of caffeine in the drink at 25mg, which as a recovery drink, after a tough workout it is nice to get a little kick of energy. 25mg of caffeine is about the equivalent of a quarter of a cup of coffee. 

Kill Cliff Flaming Joe Drink Review

Okay, so now for what you all really want to know, what does is taste like. Joe Rogan's Kill Cliff Energy Drink is incredibly unique. I can only think of one other "spicy" Energy Drink on the market, that being Monster's Reign Inferno Thermogenic Energy Drink which comes in a Strawberry Jalapeno flavor. What's different about the Flaming Joe versus the Monster Jalapeno Strawberry is that while they both finish with some heat, the Monster Drink actually has the taste of a fresh jalapeno along with the spice, where as Joe Rogan's Flaming Joe is more of a pineapple taste but has a capsaicin finish. What I mean by that is you get the heat and the spice but not really a flavor with it. 

Pineapple Juice can sometimes be a bit overly sweet or overly acidic, Kill Cliff did a great job with a nice toned down Pineapple flavor with just a hint of sweetness and acidity which is tempered and finishes nicely with a bit of heat that tickles your tongue and throat a bit, but isn't overly hot. 

It also has a great aftertaste and finish and doesn't have any chemical taste or taste of artificial sweeteners as many energy drinks do. 

Would We Recommend It?

We absolutely would recommend trying the Kill Cliff Flaming Joe Drink. We sampled a can here in the office and overall everyone enjoyed it. Reviews among my peers here ranged from OMG I love it, to that's probably not something I'll be drinking on a regular basis but it's interesting and I enjoyed it. I did bring a can home to my girlfriend who said it was gross, but she thinks most things are gross so we're tossing her review from the mix.
