The Vabbing Trend on TikTok

The Vabbing Trend on TikTok
Vabbing TikTok Trend

The social media platform TikTok has become incredibly popular in recent years. What began as teens lip syncing and doing challenges and dances has quickly grown to nearly everyone, even your grandmother, having a TikTok account. TikTok has become a place where trends are set across various industries, two such industries being the Fitness World, as well as the world of Supplementation, Health, and Nutrition as well. We've talked about a number of TikTok Health Trends both on our blog, as well as our Youtube Channel, and these include everything from various exercises like the 3-13-30 workout to chlorophyll water, to women using Slippery Elm to make themselves "wetter".  Well the most recent and one of the more unique TikTok Trends is a recent one called Vabbing.

What is Vabbing?

The Vabbing TikTok Trend is the practice of women using bodily fluids ie fluids from their vagina as a perfume. One such TikTok user who goes by the handle @jewlieah explained that she touches her privates collecting her "natural scent" and dabs it onto her wrists, neck, and the back of her ears.

Does Vabbing Actually Work?

So the theory behind vabbing has to do with pheromones. A pheromone is a chemical that animals and humans produce which change the behavior of another animal of the opposite sex. Pheromones are released in bodily fluids like urine and sweat among others, and they are essentially a form of communication. It's believed that pheromones are actively involved in sexual attraction and that upon release they can stimulate things like arousal, desire, lust and even fertility when they are detected through smell. The idea behind vabbing is that using a womens scent may help to attract romantic or sexual partners. While the science is still out on pheromones and how effective vabbing may be, TikTok users including @jewlieah among others claim it works. @jewlieah says she has been using this method everyday and that men continue to talk to and approach her and she claims it works "100%"

Is Vabbing Safe?

While TikToker's seem to love vabbing and swear it works, others aren't so sure. While studies have been done on pheromones in animals, there's not even conclusive evidence that pheromones work the same way with humans. Beyond that experts like Dr Simone Zoepke stated that vaginal secretions can be carriers for diseases such as HIV, syphilis, herpes and ghonorrhoea and that by applying vaginal fluids to areas of the body it increases the possiblity of transmitting diseases to other people, especially through oral contact with these areas through kissing. The bottom line is this, despite TikTokers swearing by this new trend, the science seems to indicate that vabbing has less validity than wearing a particularly arousing perfume which could affect attractiveness through triggering certain memories or associations.
